Jordan Yamamoto Designated For Assignment
3 years agoThe New York Mets have designated right-handed pitcher Jordan Yamamoto for assignment. The team selected the contract of relief pitcher Chasen Shreve to fill Yamamoto's roster spot. If Yamamoto isn't traded or claimed over the next week, the Mets can send him to Triple-A as he has a minor league option on his contract. The 25-year-old has a 6.05 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP over 96.2 innings in the majors, but he's shown some promise in the minors over the years, so it seems likely that we'll see another club take a chance on him.
