Jordan Wilkins Terrible In Week 4
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts rookie running back Jordan Wilkins was the starter in Week 4 with veteran Marlon Mack (hamstring) out. He did not seize his opportunity with a very underwhelming day. He finished with eight carries for 16 yards and zero catches on one target. Fellow rookie Nyheim Hines thoroughly outplayed him for the lead-back role in the absence of Mack. While some of Wilkins' struggles can be chalked up to a struggling offensive line and a lack of snaps to get rolling, he has just been too ineffective to stay in the game. Wilkins is the more old-school back, but he doesn't work best in the Colts scheme that has quarterback Andrew Luck throwing 50 times a game. While Wilkins should be owned in deeper leagues, he should not be started until he carves out a better role.
