Jordan Westburg Picks Up Two More Hits
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles infield prospect Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles to go along with three runs, one walk and two RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk. The 24-year-old is now up to a .324 batting average to go along with 11 homers, 40 RBI and four stolen bases. As impressive as they come on the farm, Westburg doesn't have much left to prove in the minor leagues. With third baseman Gunnar Henderson and second baseman Adam Frazier both struggling this season, Westburg is clearly breathing down their necks. A natural shortstop, Westburg has also played third base and second base to help his rise through the system. One of the better stashes in redraft leagues, Westburg should already be rostered in dynasty leagues and could make an immediate impact when promoted due to his ability to hit for power and contact. It also doesn't hurt that he could gain eligibility at second base and third base in addition to shortstop.
