Jordan Westburg Active On Saturday
5 days agoBaltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (upper body) is back in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon. Westburg was held out of the starting nine on Wednesday due to an upper-body injury. He could have returned on Friday, but the competition against the Blue Jays was canceled due to rain. Westburg will cover the hot corner in this game and bat cleanup. Westburg has enjoyed a strong start to the campaign, posting a .256/.333/.465 slash line with three home runs and a 4:9 BB:K. He has tallied four RBI and scored seven runs. He has generated an elite .309 xBA with a .594 xSLG, which are both well above the average marks. He is a solid play in DFS this afternoon, facing right-hander Bowden Francis, who enters this game with a 3.18 ERA.

Jordan Westburg Out With "Upper-Body Injury" On Wednesday
7 days agoBaltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (upper body) is dealing with what manager Brandon Hyde called an "upper-body injury" and will get the day off on Wednesday in the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. It's the same issue that prompted Hyde to sit Westburg for a game in Toronto on opening weekend. It's something to watch, but it doesn't sound very serious, so Westburg should be back in the starting lineup in Baltimore on Friday against the division-rival Blue Jays. Ramon Urias is starting at third and is batting eighth on Wednesday against D-backs right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. Since returning from his last day off with the upper-body injury, Westburg has gone just 5-for-30, although he does have three home runs in his first 11 games of the year. Urias will be a low-upside DFS play and he's never faced Pfaadt in his career.

Jordan Westburg Sitting On Sunday
2 weeks agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman/third baseman Jordan Westburg is not in the starting lineup for their contest against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon. Westburg has been in the starting lineup in each of their first three contests. He has enjoyed a hot start to the campaign, launching three long balls with six total hits. Instead, the Orioles will move Jackson Holliday to the keystone and have Ramon Urias start at the hot corner. Fantasy managers should expect Westburg to return to the starting nine on Monday when they face the Boston Red Sox. Holliday and Urias are worth considering in DFS competitions this afternoon, facing Toronto right-hander Chris Bassitt, who struggled last season as he held a high 4.16 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP.

Jordan Westburg Smacks Two Homers
3 weeks agoBaltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg came ready to play with his power bat on Saturday. The right-handed slugger went 4-for-5 with two home runs and two RBI in the win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Westburg wasted no time as he immediately went deep off right-hander Max Scherzer in the first inning. He later went deep off right-hander Chad Green for his second of the day and his third total of the season. Westburg should be rostered in all fantasy formats, but if he's for some reason available then make sure to scoop him up.

Jordan Westburg Returns To Spring Lineup
1 month agoBaltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (back) is back in the Grapefruit League lineup on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates and is starting at second base and batting fifth, according to The Baltimore Sun's Matt Weyrich. This will be Westburg's first game in spring training since dealing with lower-back soreness last Wednesday. It was a minor issue and shouldn't put the 26-year-old in jeopardy of missing Opening Day later this month, barring another setback with his bat. Although he's at the keystone on Thursday, Westburg is expected to be Baltimore's starting third baseman in 2025 after he hit .264/.312/.481 with 18 homers, 63 RBI and six stolen bases in just 107 games to earn the first All-Star selection of his career. A broken hand late in the second half put a damper on Westburg's season as a whole, but he should be considered a top-10 fantasy third baseman heading into his second full season.
