Jordan Walker Continues To Hit This Spring
2 years agoSt.Louis Cardinals third base prospect Jordan Walker started in right field and went 1-for-3 with a single on Tuesday versus the Detroit Tigers. Walker, 20, is one of the games top prospects and his hot start to the spring is evidence of that. In his first 24 at-bats, he has hit .417 with five runs, three homers and 10 RBI. Walker is one of the best young sluggers in the game, but with third base taken up by Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals have been playing Walker in both left and right field this spring. Despite his age, Walker appears ready to make an impact in 2023. For now, his best bets for everyday at-bats would be platooning with Lars Nootbaar in right field and also entering the lineup as a designated hitter. Walker has light tower power and would have plenty of RBI opportunities in a stacked Cardinals lineup, if he does indeed break camp with the team. Walker should already have been rostered in dynasty leagues and managers in redrafts leagues will want to keep tabs on his roster status with his ability to be a difference maker in 2023.
