Carolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal led the charge against Anaheim on Sunday with a hat trick and set an NHL record in the process. He last scored a hat trick on Nov. 11, 2008, and the 4,898 days between his two three-goal performances is the longest span between regular-season hat tricks in NHL history. Staal also rocked the Sabres with a two-goal game last week, and he now suddenly boasts seven points across his last four appearances. The veteran forward has managed 31 points for the whole season, adding 200 hits in 71 contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
