Jordan Staal Has Monster Game Versus Isles
6 years agoCarolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal capped off a dominant performance with a goal in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders, netting a late game-tying goal with only a minute and a half to go in regulation. Staal also registered game-highs in shots on goal (7) and hits (8), while doing an incredible job at the faceoff circle, winning 70.4 percent of his 27 draws. It was a great start to the year from Staal, who is very highly rated by Carolina's new head coach Rod Brind'Amour, so he could be flirting with a career-year in 2018-19. His current career-highs 25 goals and 50 points came in 2011-12 playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
