Jordan Spieth Isn't a Lock for the Tour Championship
6 years agoJordan Spieth, who won 2015 FedExCup title and was the 2017 runner-up, has never missed the final Tour Championship event in his career but is in grave danger of bowing out early this season. Spieth enters the Northern Trust ranked 43rd in the yearly standings and will need to quickly post a handful of quality results if he wants to get back to East Lake. The 25-year-old provided a runner-up finish last season at Glen Oaks' version of the Northern Trust, losing on the first hole of the sudden-death playoff to Dustin Johnson. The American has had a tumultuous season on the greens but has gained strokes putting in his previous four trackable rounds. The eighth-ranked golfer in the world is running out of chances to make a splash this season, but we anticipate he will give it all he has and should be considered one of the favorites at Ridgewood Country Club. Spieth is 20/1 to hoist the Northern Trust title this weekend, according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook.
