Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jordan Spence signed a two-year extension on Thursday. He received a $3 million deal after completing his entry-level contract. Spence established himself as a full-time NHLer last season, making 71 appearances. He finished with 24 points (two goals, 22 assists), 80 shots, 55 blocks, and 67 hits. The 23-year-old was one of only five defensemen to record 12 penalty minutes or fewer with at least 70 games played. Spence, who has the distinction of being the first Australian-born player in NHL history, fills a third-pairing role in Los Angeles and doesn't carry a lot of fantasy value.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
