Jordan Romano Strikes Out The Side For 11th Save
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano shut down the Tigers in the ninth inning on Saturday, securing his 11th save of the campaign in the 3-0 win. He worked around a leadoff single by striking out the next three batters he faced, throwing 13 of his 16 pitches for strikes in the dominant showing. The right-hander has now thrown six-straight scoreless frames to lower his ERA to 2.44 and his WHIP to 1.22 with 60 K through 44 1/3 IP on the season. Romano has just one blown save on the year, but save chances have been sporadic since the arms in front of him haven't exactly paved the way to many opportunities in close ball games. Still, his arm is worth rostering in deep leagues for his ratios and strikeouts.
