Jordan Romano Picks Up Fourth Save
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jordan Romano closed out the team's 2-1 win over the Marlins on Tuesday for his fourth save of the season. The right-hander served up a leadoff single to Starling Marte, but he was caught stealing shortly after before Romano got a strikeout and a pop out to end the game. Although he's proven to be the best arm in the Jays bullpen this year, Romano leads the team with just five save opportunities since he's been used in higher-leverage situations earlier in the game. Toronto also seems to frequently end up on the wrong side of close games, but managers should be pleased with his four wins, 1.42 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 33 punchouts in 25 1/3 IP.
