Jordan Romano Locks Down Sixth Save
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jordan Romano pitched a perfect ninth inning on Sunday, closing out the team's 5-2 win over the Orioles. The right-hander punched out one batter in the frame for his sixth save of the season, and third in the last week, after failing to find many opportunities leading up to the end of June. He's been the most reliable reliever on the Jays by far, but has worked high-leverage situations in the eighth as well as coming in to close out games. Romano is 6-for-7 in save chances with a sparkling 1.26 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 37 strikeouts in 28 2/3 IP in 2021, giving him plenty of fantasy value despite the low amount of saves.
