Jordan Romano Gets The Save For Blue Jays
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano nailed down his first save of the season in the team’s 6-5 extra-inning win over the Rays on Friday. He worked out of a bit of trouble by allowing a pair of hits and the inherited runner at second base to score, but he recorded a strikeout and got Hunter Renfroe to ground out to end the game. It’s been a carousel for the closing job in Toronto recently with Rafael Dolis picking up a save on Wednesday, but Romano is the best bet to keep getting save opportunities as long as Ken Giles is sidelined. Romano now owns a superb 0.69 ERA and 0.77 WHIP with 19 punchouts in 13 IP, numbers that play well in any fantasy format regardless of his defined role.
