Jordan Romano Earns 27th Save
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano picked up his 27th save of the season on Sunday versus the Seattle Mariners. After a tough outing on Saturday, Romano's services were needed again to help the Blue Jays win 4-3. Things went differently than anticipated in the ninth inning, like Saturday. He accidentally hit Dylan Moore with a pitch, leading off the inning, and then walked Kolten Wong, putting the tying run in scoring position with no outs. J.P. Crawford would then sacrifice both runners-up. The 30-year-old right-hander would turn things around by fanning Julio Rodriguez and he got Eugenio Suarez to fly out to end the game. With this save, Romano has successfully converted 27 out of his first 30 opportunities.
