Jordan Romano Dealing With A Rib Contusion
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Jordan Romano (ribs) sustained a rib contusion during Saturday's 5-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The 29-year-old was struck in the rib by a line drive in the final out of Saturday's victory. X-rays returned negative, and the right-hander was diagnosed with a rib contusion. Romano appears to have avoided a severe injury and is considered day-to-day. He allowed three hits while striking out two over a scoreless inning to earn the save. Romano is now 6-for-7 in save opportunities with a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 10 strikeouts over eight innings in 2023. Erik Swanson and Yimi Garcia would be in line for save chances if Romano were to miss any time.
