Jordan Romano Closes The Door On Red Sox
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Jordan Romano pitched a perfect ninth inning on Sunday, protecting the club's 9-8 win over the Red Sox. The right-hander struck out a pair in the 17-pitch frame to lock down his 10th save while lowering his ERA to 2.68 on the year. Romano has had a few hiccups in recent weeks, but manager Charlie Montoyo has stuck with his man for the majority of saves despite the recent additions to the bullpen. The job is well-deserved since he has proven to be the best relief arm on the team, but the team's lack of save opportunities limits his overall value.
