Jordan Montgomery Traded To The Rangers
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jordan Montgomery and right-hander Chris Stratton were traded to the Texas Rangers in exchange for infielder Thomas Saggese, right-hander Tekoah Roby, and left-hander John King. The Cardinals have been trading key pieces and moved closer Jordan Hicks to the Blue Jays before dealing for Montgomery. The 30-year-old has been solid for the Cardinals in 2023, posting (6-9) record, a 3.42 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 108:35 K: BB across 121 innings. He will give the Rangers another solid arm in the starting rotation and help replace Nathan Eovaldi (forearm, who recently landed on the injured list. Montgomery will gain more fantasy value and could rack up more wins now that he is pitching for a contender in the Rangers.
