Jordan Montgomery Strikes Out Six In Victory
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery earned his sixth victory of the season Tuesday against the Rangers. Montgomery pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits while issuing one walk. He struck out six batters, generating 11 swinging strikes, six of them coming on his changeup. While the starts came against lesser opponents in Baltimore and Texas, Montgomery has been outstanding in those outings, allowing two runs in that span while striking out 18 batters with just two walks. He could be a solid streamer for those in need of a back-end starter in the fantasy playoffs, despite the tough matchup against the Blue Jays.
