8 months agoFree agent pitcher Jordan Montgomery has been offered long-term deals from two teams and it sounds like it won't be long before he signs. Which two teams made the offers is still unclear, and there are still multiple teams that are in need of his services. The Yankees and Red Sox are still reportedly involved, while some playoff-caliber teams recently lost pitchers to injury including the D-Backs, Phillies, Yankees, and Astros and could make a move. CBS Sports' Jim Bowden also indicates that the Orioles could still be in the mix as well. Unlikely to pitch in the first couple weeks of the year, but coming off a season in which he posted a 3.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 166 K in 188 2/3 IP, the lefty can be a solid fourth starter for fantasy teams that have yet to draft.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
