Jordan Lyles Allows One Run Across Six Innings On Tuesday
3 years agoTexas Rangers starter Jordan Lyles turned in a surprise gem at home against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday in the club's 9-4 loss. Lyles pitched extremely well in the first half of the game, with a sixth-inning Brandon Crawford solo home run as the only earned run he allowed. Steven Duggar was also able to drive in Brandon Belt in the second inning on a Nate Lowe error, with right-hander dancing around anymore danger while giving up six hits and three walks in six full innings. Clearly not a full-season player, Lyles still has a 5.37 ERA and 1.52 WHIP even after this game and he is everything that he is advertised to be. Lyles can blow up at any time, but he can also spin an unpredictable stud performance here and there. That said, the key word is unpredictable, so continue to simply avoid him moving forward.
