Jordan Luplow Exits Monday With Ankle Sprain
4 years agoCleveland Indians outfielder Jordan Luplow (ankle) exited Monday's game early with a left ankle sprain, according to Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal. Luplow had grounded out to the pitcher in his last at bat in the top of the second inning, before he was replaced on defense in the bottom half of the inning. He's struggled to make contact this season with a .181 average, but he's gotten on base at a good clip with a .333 on-base percentage and a career-high 17 percent walk rate. And when he has made contact it's been for power, as he's crushed six home runs in 30 games with a .458 slugging percentage. When healthy, he's a decent outfield play in deep-mixed and AL-only formats.
