Jordan Lawlar Unlikely To Win A Bench Role
22 seconds agoAccording to Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, Diamondbacks shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar is not expected to win a bench role during spring training. General manager Mike Hazen noted that starting the year on the bench, given how much time he missed last season, is "probably not what's in his best interest." Last summer, Lawlar appeared in just 23 games in the minor leagues due to a lingering hamstring injury. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Grae Kessinger, Blaze Alexander, Garrett Hampson, and Ildemaro Vargas to be in the mix for this role. Lawlar made his MLB debut during the 2023 campaign and held a .129/.206/.129 line across 14 games. Across 28 Triple-A games, the top prospect in the system has held an impressive .362/.438/.602 line. He should be in the mix to return to the majors during the 2025 season.
