Jordan Lawlar Optioned To Triple-A
4 hours agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned infield prospect Jordan Lawlar to Triple-A Reno. Lawlar was competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster but will instead begin his 2025 campaign at the top level of the minor leagues. Last season, Lawlar missed time due to injuries and was unable to reach the majors. He appeared in just 23 games in the minor leagues (17 at Triple-A) and posted a .318/.417/.482 slash line. Lawlar made his MLB debut during the 2023 campaign and posted .129/.206/.129 slash line with a 2:11 BB:K. Fantasy managers should monitor his progress at Triple-A as he should contend for an early-season return to the big leagues. The 22-year-old is viewed as the top prospect in the Arizona system and was drafted with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. While he continues his development at Triple-A, Geraldo Perdomo will see most of the opportunities at shortstop in the majors.
