Jordan Hicks Struggles In Friday's Win
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks struggled in Friday's 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Hicks was called upon to pitch the ninth inning of a 5-1 game, but had only recorded one out after facing four batters. The Cardinals then went to their closer, Alex Reyes, for the final two outs. Reyes allowed both of the runners he inherited from Hicks to score before finally getting the third out and closing out the victory. In total, Hicks ended up with just 1/3 of an inning pitched, allowing three runs on one hit and two walks. His ERA went up to 4.91 and he only threw six of his 16 pitches for strikes.
