Jordan Hicks Slated For Rehab Outing, To Return As Reliever
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-hander Jordan Hicks (forearm) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday. Cardinals general manager Michael Girsh stated that Hicks is going to "pitch like a reliever" during his rehab stint, suggesting that he'll be returning to the team as a relief pitcher once he's ready. Hicks had been part of the team's starting rotation before he strained a flexor tendon in his right forearm in late May. He was struggling as a starter, pitching to a 5.02 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP over nine games (seven starts). We'll see if he can turn his season around with his rotation to the pen.
