Jordan Hicks’ Return Uncertain This Season
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jordan Hicks (elbow) hasn't yet resumed mound work and may not return in 2021. According to manager Mike Shildt, Hicks is "significantly" behind Miles Mikolas (forearm) and Jack Flaherty (oblique) in his recovery process. "Hard to say" if he'll pitch for the Cardinals again this season. The 24-year-old has been sidelined since early May with right elbow inflammation. St. Louis will continue to be cautious with Hicks, who underwent Tommy John surgery in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 season. He owned a 5.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 10 innings in 2021. Fantasy managers can safely drop the 24-year-old in re-draft leagues.
