Jordan Hicks Notches Eighth Save Of Season
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks picked up his eighth save of the season in Monday's 6-4 win over the Marlins. Hicks entered the game to pitch the top of the ninth up by two. He allowed a leadoff single, induced a groundball double play, allowed a double and a single, and got the final out on a groundout. The 26-year-old has taken over the closer's role with Ryan Helsley (forearm) on the injured list and has done well, converting seven of eight save opportunities over the last 30 days. Walks have been an issue for him this season with a 5.22 BB/9 rate, but his seemingly secure interim role, 3.86 ERA, and 12.71 K/9 rate make him a must-roster fantasy option at this time.
