Jordan Hicks Earns Fifth Consecutive Save Tuesday
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks earned yet another save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Astros. Hicks entered the game to pitch the top of the ninth up by two and delivered a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout to end the game. The 26-year-old's last five appearances have all resulted in saves with Ryan Helsley (forearm) currently on the injured list. Hicks' season numbers are mediocre with a 4.05 ERA, 14.04 K/9 rate, and 5.67 BB/9 rate, but he seems to be the clear favorite for save opportunities in Helsley's absence. The former prospect throws very hard and clearly generates strikeouts, making him worth a look in all leagues at this time.
