Jordan Groshans Optioned To Triple-A
2 years agoThe Miami Marlins optioned shortstop prospect Jordan Groshans to Triple-A. Miami acquired him at the deadline from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for relievers Zach Pop and Anthony Bass. A former top prospect in the Blue Jays system, Groshans finds himself dealing with another setback. Injuries and the pandemic have stunted the development of the 2018 first-round pick. The 23-year-old debuted for the Marlins late last season, slashing .262/.308/.311 in 17 games. He didn't move the needle in spring training, holding a .675 OPS in 17 at-bats. With the Marlins having a surplus of infield depth, the path to fantasy relevance for Groshans is narrow.
