Jordan Groshans Among Toronto's Top Prospects In Player Pool
5 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays included each of their top-five prospects, per MLB Pipeline, in their initial 58-man player pool. They include right-handed pitcher Nate Pearson, shortstop Jordan Groshans, right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson, right-hander Alek Manoah and catcher Alejandro Kirk. Austin Martin, the fifth overall pick in the draft, could join the group once he signs. Groshans hasn't played above Single-A, but this will be his opportunity to continue his development in an MLB environment. Thornton was looking like a lock for a rotation spot earlier this spring, and he should see work at least out of the bullpen in 2020. His triple-digit arm was the reason why he was ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect in baseball entering this season.
