1 year agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington produced one of his best performances of the season on Thursday against the Islanders, securing his third shutout of the campaign in a 4-0 win with 38 saves. It's the most saves in a shutout a Blues netminder has had since Jake Allen stopped 38 shots in a victory over Chicago on Dec. 3, 2019. Binnington has flipped between wins and losses lately, but he's done well across the entire campaign, posting a 20-15-2 record with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington will remain Team Canada's starter in Saturday's 4 Nations Face-Off matchup against the U.S. The 31-year-old allowed three goals on 26 shots in the tournament opener against Sweden but came up big in overtime with multiple saves, earning himself another chance to start ahead of Adin Hill of the Vegas Golden Knights and Montreal Canadiens netminder Samuel Montembeault. Binnington now holds a 7-2-0 record with Canada since last year's World Championships, allowing an average of 2.88 goals per game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced en route to defeating Team Sweden in overtime on Wednesday evening. Binnington's first blemish came in the second frame when Minnesota's Jonas Brodin beat him on a snapshot. Then, in the third, Sweden was able to score twice, which forced overtime. Los Angeles's Adrian Kempe and Minnesota's Joel Eriksson Ek were able to find the back of the net in that frame. However, Binnington was able to stop all four shots he saw in overtime, which set up Mitch Marner to score the game-winner. Fantasy managers should monitor Binnington's status leading up to their next game on Saturday evening, as he will likely get the starting nod once again. He will have a tougher matchup facing Team USA, who is led by three-time Rocket Richard winner Auston Matthews.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington will be in the net as Team Canada kicks off the 4 Nations Face-Off against Team Sweden on Wednesday night. Binnington has earned the nod ahead of Adin Hill of the Vegas Golden Knights and Sam Montembeault on the Montreal Canadiens. The 31-year-old also represented Canada at last year's World Championships, posting a 6-2-0 record as Canada finished fourth. Binnington has become the winningest goalie in Blues history this season, but he has had a bumpy road overall. In 38 starts, Binnington has posted a 15-19-4 record with a 2.89 goals-against average. He has tallied three shutouts while registering a .896 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 months agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced en route to defeating the Utah Hockey Club on Sunday evening. Binnington's lone blemish came in the third period when Michael Kesselring beat him on a slap shot. The Blues held the advantage in the shot total, but Binnington performed well when called on. This performance snapped a two-game losing streak for the 31-year-old. In addition, this was the first time in four starts that Binnington allowed one goal or less. Across 37 total games, Binnington holds a 14-19-3 with a 2.83 GAA and a .898% SV. He has posted three shutouts. Binnington will look to stay hot when he faces the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday evening.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
