Jordan Binnington Earns Victory Over Team Sweden
1 month agoSt. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced en route to defeating Team Sweden in overtime on Wednesday evening. Binnington's first blemish came in the second frame when Minnesota's Jonas Brodin beat him on a snapshot. Then, in the third, Sweden was able to score twice, which forced overtime. Los Angeles's Adrian Kempe and Minnesota's Joel Eriksson Ek were able to find the back of the net in that frame. However, Binnington was able to stop all four shots he saw in overtime, which set up Mitch Marner to score the game-winner. Fantasy managers should monitor Binnington's status leading up to their next game on Saturday evening, as he will likely get the starting nod once again. He will have a tougher matchup facing Team USA, who is led by three-time Rocket Richard winner Auston Matthews.
