Jorbit Vivas Promoted To The Major Leagues
4 months agoNew York Yankees second base/third base prospect Jorbit Vivas is being promoted to the major league roster, according to Andy Martino of SNY. In a corresponding move, J.D. Davis will be placed on the injured list with an undisclosed injury. Vivas has performed very well in his second look at Triple-A ball this season. Through 37 total games, the 23-year-old has posted a solid .258/.404/.424 line with five home runs, eight stolen bases, and 19 RBI. However, in his past 13 games, the infielder has been swinging a hot bat with an eye-catching .375/.474/.646 slash line. Vivas is ranked as the 15th-best prospect in the Yankee system on MLB Pipeline. He is worth adding in deeper leagues for now and could become a must-add in all leagues if he can carve out a full-time playing role. With Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu struggling to find consistency at the plate, Vivas may claim one of these positions fairly quickly. UPDATE: Davis was put on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 9) with the stomach flu.
