Joonas Donskoi Earns Hat Trick On Thursday
5 years agoColorado Avalanche forward Joonas Donskoi buried a trio of goals as his team rolled over the Nashville Predators 9-4 on Thursday night. The 27-year-old scored two even-strength goals in the second period and capped off his night with a power-play marker in the final frame. Donskoi is off to a strong start to his career in Denver thus far - having now recorded 11 points (eight goals, three assists) through his first 16 contests. With the Avalanche currently dealing with a myriad of injuries, Donskoi has been shifted up to the team's first line and top power-play unit, a highly desired role playing alongside superstar center Nathan MacKinnon. Despite not having yet eclipsed 40 points in his first four seasons in the NHL, the Finnish native should be considered an intriguing short-term fantasy option given his excellent deployment of late. He'll be back at it versus the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
