4 years agoMiami Marlins infielder/outfielder Jonathan Villar (back) was scratched from the lineup of Thursday's scrimmage due to minor back spasms. The team clarified that Villar started feeling better closer to practice time, but they felt it would be best not to risk anything. It seems like if there had been a regular game, Villar may have been able to play. He is expected to have an everyday role near or at the top of the lineup, although he will likely play defensively all over the field and possibly get some starts as the designated hitter as well. He's a solid contributor in all standard categories and could be a steal on draft day.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
