Jonathan Villar Continues To Slump In May
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman/shortstop Jonathan Villar went 1-for-5 with a double and three strikeouts in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Angels. The 28-year-old started off the season well but has cooled off and is hitting just .231 with two stolen bases in 39 at-bats in May. Villar is still a fantasy asset given his speed and ability to hit for some power but he should stay on fantasy owners' benches if possible until he can break out of his slump. He should have some opportunity to do that in the O's next game against a mediocre Angels pitching staff and then on the road for a series in hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium.
