Detroit Tigers' second baseman Jonathan Schoop (hand) is back in the lineup on Monday against Brad Keller and the Kansas City Royals. The 29-year-old sat out of Sunday's game vs. the White sox with left-hand soreness after being hit by a pitch in Saturday's loss. He's batting third as Detroit's designated hitter on Monday. Schoop has picked up his game over the last month and is slashing a solid .262/.317/.437 with 10 homers, 29 RBI, and 24 runs scored across 229 at-bats this season. He's a valuable streaming option in deeper leagues with his multi-position eligibility (1B/2B).--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop has an opt-out clause in his contract, but he intends to return to the team for the final year of his deal in 2023. If Schoop chose to opt out, he would be leaving $7.5 million on the table next year after signing a two-year, $15 million extension with Detroit in August of 2021. It makes even more sense after the 31-year-old veteran hit just .202/.239/.322 with 11 home runs, 38 RBI, 48 runs scored and five stolen bases in 481 at-bats for the Tigers in 2022. Because of his poor season, Schoop won't be guaranteed regular playing time heading into the 2023 season, and he'll need to play well in spring training. There isn't much appeal in fantasy with Schoop moving forward.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop isn't in the team's lineup for the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Chris Flexen. Schoop has logged 501 plate appearances for Detroit so far this season, batting .203 with a .240 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, and a career-high five stolen bases. Instead, Harold Castro will move over to second base and bat cleanup. The 28-year-old is hitting .272 with a .301 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 438 plate appearances this season. He's worth a look as a streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller

Detroit Tigers infielder Jonathan Schoop isn't in the team's lineup on Tuesday for a matchup with the Houston Astros and right-hander Hunter Brown. The 30-year-old is batting .200 this season with a .234 on-base percentage, nine home runs, and five stolen bases in 458 plate appearances for the Tigers. It'll be Harold Castro starting at second base instead on Tuesday. Castro, who is hitting second against Houston, is batting .273 with a .304 on-base percentage, and six home runs in 388 plate appearances. He's worth a look for fantasy managers in search of streaming options in deeper leagues.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
