Jonathan Schoop Reaches Base Four Times On Saturday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop had a strong offensive game in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Chicago Cubs. Schoop went 3-for-5 with a double, a walk and two RBI. It was his third multi-hit effort over his past five games. The three-hit game helped lift his season-long average above the Mendoza line to .212. Apart from struggling to keep his average up this year, Schoop is also struggling to find his power bat. He's hit just two home runs through 36 games this year, the most recent of which coming on April 27. Schoop could be fantasy-relevant in deep leagues and AL-only leagues if his power numbers wake up, but he can remain on waivers in all leagues for now.
