Jonathan Schoop Heading To The Bench On Thursday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers second baseman Jonathan Schoop is out of the starting lineup for Thursday's series opener against the Houston Astros. Harold Castro will be covering the keystone and batting seventh in the game. After going 0-for-8 with three strikeouts in Wednesday's doubleheader, Schoop is now slashing .136/.174/.193 over 23 games on the year. He has just three extra-base hits (one home run, two doubles). Schoop is a notoriously streaky hitter. Last year, he slashed just .198/.230/.284 in April, but went on to mash 10 home runs with a .340/.379/.698 slash line in June. He can certainly be dropped in all standard fantasy leagues, but keep your eye out for one of his hot streaks.
