Jonathan Quick Inks One-Year Extension With Rangers
8 mins agoThe New York Rangers have signed goaltender Jonathan Quick to a one-year extension worth $1.55 million. After winning three Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings, Quick has become the No. 2 option behind Igor Shesterkin. Last season, Quick performed quite well in this role, holding an 18-6-2 record with a .911 save percentage and a 2.62 GAA. He posted two shutouts. Quick has seen his production decline this season as he has held a higher 3.14 GAA with a .896 save percentage across 21 contests. Earlier this season, Quick became the only United States-born netminder to win 400 games at the NHL level. Fantasy managers should continue to expect Quick to serve as the backup option behind Shesterkin as the Rangers hope for a late-season playoff push. Given his lack of consistent ice time, he should only be rostered in deeper formats and could be a viable streaming option in favorable matchups.
