Jonathan Loaisiga Records Third Save
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga picked up his third save of the season in Saturday's 4-2 win over Miami. Loaisiga put a couple of runners on base but worked his way out of the jam, picking up a strikeout in the process. The Yankees went with the 26-year-old in the ninth over Aroldis Chapman- as the latter had pitched three times in the last four games- and Loaisiga didn't disappoint, lowering his season ratios to a strong 2.63 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. His Statcast page suggests these numbers have largely been deserving, thanks to his impressive ability to force hitters into weak contact. While he won't always pitch the ninth, his ability to rack up wins, holds, and boost ratios should make him a solid piece of more fantasy teams.
