Jonathan Loaisiga Plays Catch Monday
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Jonathan Loaisiga (elbow) played catch for the second time in four days on Monday. He's trying to build up stamina to pitch in a Minor League rehab assignment, which will probably come in a few weeks. Loaisiga went down with elbow inflammation earlier in the season and hasn't pitched since April 5. Before the injury, the 28-year-old was running a 2.70 ERA, 7.7% strikeout rate, and 0.60 WHIP with a pair of holds across 3.1 innings. Loaisiga will look to bounce back from a disappointing 2022 when he returns, a season that saw him post a 4.13 ERA. Fantasy managers will have to be patient but should see a handful of holds when the former prospect is back.
