Jonathan Loaisiga Picks Up Sixth Win
3 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga notched his sixth victory of the season in Tuesday's win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Loaisiga entered the game in the seventh inning and faced the heart of the Blue Jays' order, getting Bo Bichette to ground out before allowing back-to-back hits to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Teoscar Hernandez. The 26-year-old reliever got another timely groundball out, this one a double play to work out of the jam. Loaisiga then picked up the win when the Yankees rallied in the top half of the following frame. He now owns an outstanding 1.78 ERA while ranking in the 97th-percentile or better in average exit velocity, barrel rate, hard-hit rate, and expected ERA.
