3 years agoUpdating an ongoing story, New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that relief pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga was one of three players -- pitchers Nestor Cortes and Wandy Peralta being the others -- with confirmed positive COVID-19 tests. Three more players have tested positive with rapid tests but are awaiting confirmation. It's the reason why the Yankees scheduled game on Thursday against the division-rival Boston Red Sox was postponed, and the game on Friday isn't guaranteed to be played. Loaisiga was placed on the COVID-19 injured list last weekend, and Cortes and Peralta were put on the list on Thursday. The good news all three players are feeling fine, but it's unknown when they'll be able to rejoin the team.
