Jonathan Loaisiga Bounces Back In Defeat
5 years agoWhile the New York Yankees suffered a 6-2 loss to kick off their West Coast road trip, their second pitcher on the night gave them cause for hope. Pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga, who just returned from an extended injury absence, bounced back in a very positive way. After getting battered last Thursday in his return, the 24-year-old fired 2 2/3 shutout innings, surrendering just one hit and two walks while striking out two. His 40-pitch was a step in the right direction as the Yankees begin to essentially hold tryouts for postseason reliever spots. Loaisiga could additionally serve as a starter at some point this season.
