Jonathan Holder Wins Final Spot In Yankees Bullpen
7 years agoThe final spot in the New York Yankees bullpen was decided today, as the the club optioned Domingo German to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, leaving Jonathan Holder the winner. The 24-year-old has made sporadic appearances with the club the past two seasons, making a bigger impact in 2017. This year in Spring Training, he was solid, posting a 1.80 ERA with a pair of saves in seven appearances, striking out 11 along the way. German, meanwhile, was also very effective this spring, though ultimately it wasn’t enough. Regardless, you should expect to see him called up at the first sign of injury trouble on the New York pitching staff.
