Jonathan Davis Dealing With Right-Knee Contusion
1 year agoUpdating a previous report, Miami Marlins outfielder Jonathan Davis (knee) suffered a right-knee contusion in Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Davis had to be carted off the field after landing awkwardly on his right knee while diving for a ball in center field, and he'll go for additional tests, including X-rays. Davis appears to have avoided a serious injury, but he could be rested the rest of the week with the All-Star break coming next week. He was replaced in center field by Dane Myers after going 0-for-2 with a strikeout in the contest. The 31-year-old came into Tuesday's game with a .250/.313/.386 slash line with only two home runs, four doubles, a triple, 10 RBI and 22 runs scored in 33 games in his first year in Miami.
