Jonathan Bowlan Making MLB Debut Wednesday Versus Tigers
1 year agoKansas City Royals pitcher Jonathan Bowlan is set to make his big-league debut Wednesday night against the division-rival Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit. The right-hander has largely worked as a starter between Double-A and Triple-A this season, tossing a 7.20 ERA across 10 appearances (nine starts) at Double-A before working to a 5.24 ERA across 14 outings (12 starts) at the Triple-A level. A 2018 second-round pick, the 26-year-old owns a career 4.69 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 80 minor-league appearances (74 starts) spanning 362 1/3 innings pitched. He takes on a Tigers offense that ranks 29th with a .293 wOBA versus right-handed pitching on the season.
