Jonathan Bermudez Promoted To The Major Leagues
3 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitching prospect Jonathan Bermudez is being promoted to the major league roster on Sunday afternoon. In a corresponding move, the Marlins transferred Dane Myers to the 60-day IL and optioned Emmanuel Ramirez to Triple-A Jacksonville. Bermudez spent most of the summer at Double-A and held a solid 2.53 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP across 74 innings of work. He then logged 23 2/3 innings at Triple-A to the tune of a 6.46 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. The 28-year-old could be a candidate to see a handful of starts down the stretch as the Marlins have several starting pitchers on the injured list and might be worth a look in deeper NL-only formats.
