Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (illness) was back practicing Saturday and appears ready to return to the lineup Sunday versus Arizona. The Swedish blue-line was knocked out of the lineup by an illness at the start of the week just when he was about to skate in his 700th career game. Brodin posted a career-high 30 points last season, but he has notched only three points in 18 games this term. He's not a very attractive fantasy option, although Brodin does pick up blocks with a nice rate and is capable of helping out managers in that area. He has thrown himself in front of 31 shots this season. The 29-year-old skated with Matt Dumba on the second defensive pairing Saturday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) is nearing a return to action and could be an option for Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres. "I think it's a strong possibility, not a guarantee," Wild head coach John Hynes said Friday after practice. Brodin took part in the practice session, skating with Jared Spurgeon. Minnesota has been without Brodin for nine games. This isn't an uncommon situation for the team, as Brodin has faced health issues all season, missing time due to three separate injuries. He has picked up 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) in 38 games while blocking 81 shots from the opposition.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) will not suit up on Wednesday evening against the Seattle Kraken. Brodin has missed the previous eight contests due to this injury. As a result, fantasy managers should expect Zach Bogosian to remain in the starting lineup and play alongside Jon Merrill on the bottom pairing. Brodin's next opportunity to return to the starting lineup will be on Saturday evening against the Buffalo Sabres. Before his injury, Brodin tallied two points (two helpers) over his last seven contests. During this stretch, the 31-year-old tallied two hits with an impressive 14 blocked shots. Through 38 total contests this season, Brodin has found the back of the net four times and added 14 helpers with an impressive 81 blocked shots. When he does return, Brodin is a viable target when looking for blocked shots in category formats.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) will not play on Monday evening but is viewed as "day-to-day." Brodin was able to skate after practice, which is a promising sign he will not be sidelined for much longer. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Wednesday evening when they host the Seattle Kraken. Brodin has missed their previous seven contests with this injury. Before the injury, the 31-year-old tallied two points (both helpers) with two hits and 14 blocked shots over his last seven contests. Through 38 total games, Brodin has logged an impressive 81 blocked shots with 18 points (four goals). With Brodin sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Zach Bogosian to remain in the starting lineup.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (lower body) is out week-to-week, the team announced on Sunday. The Swedish rearguard sustained a lower-body injury in Friday's matchup against the Colorado Avalanche. Brodin was playing in only his seventh game since recovering from a previous lower-body injury. Health issues have restricted Brodin to just 38 games this season, during which the 31-year-old has recorded 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) and 81 blocks. On Sunday against the Boston Bruins, Zach Bogosian (lower body) took Brodin's place in the lineup, returning from a one-game absence.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
